Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My wife is getting pissed off at paying 65e for going to the doctor. Even more so when there's alot of pressure to go for the tiniest little thing.. Anyway does anyone here know of a G.P. that has a cheaper fee in the South Dublin area?

You can look up all those specialist qualified in General Practice on the ICGP web site (link). Remember any qualified doctor can call themselves a GP but to be a member of ICGP you have to have completed specialist GP training, anyone who has a GMS scheme will be a specialist GP.

I'm not being funny this is just a bit of well meaning advice, but where is the pressure to go to the doc coming from?? My first port of call is always the pharmacist, they'll give you good free advice and if they think you should see the doc then you know it's money well spent. :)
They told me the difference between a viral and bacterial infection, and why the doc wouldn't give antibiotics and i'd just be paying €60 to be told to get a cough bottle and some nurofen and plenty of fluids!!
I have 3 kids and i learned pretty quickly that a trip to the doc is not always necessary. Get yourself a good thermometer and a good basic childrens ailments book you'll save yourself a fortune!
But of course if in doubt always go to the doc it's just good to educate yourself to what doesn't need medical intervention.. ie the common cold or temperature that only lasts a few hours.. ;)
