I have a Dell Mini 10 netbook which I use as a media player and browser on my TV. I leave it under my TV with the cover closed when in use. It is set to Hibernate at 12.00 each evening. I use a remote keyboard to control it. Anyone know if there is a sw way of restarting without opening the cover to get at the power switch. I use Win xp.

If the motherboard supports "Wake on LAN", that's really the only way you can boot up a machine from a powered off state.

It usually requires another network device to initiate the WOL packet though - if you have a smartphone like an iPhone, there may be a way of rigging it.
