Using iPhone SIM in Mobile Broadband Dongle

    Hi

I have an O2 iPhone with unlimited browsing etc.

I used to have an O2 broadband package but I cancelled it a while back. I still have the dongle though. As I don't want to pay extra for tethering and I don't feel comfortable jailbreaking the phone my question is can I use the SIM from the iPhone in the O2 dongle when I need to use broadband on my laptop.

It's essentially the same thing, isn't it? Except I can't make/take calls obviously when I am using the dongle. It would only be from time to time when I am on a location and need to upload files from my laptop. Can anyone see any issues with this or am I missing something?

    Thanks

I presume ur on one if the new advance plans. If so no ya can't use the dongle. It uses the open Internet apn. So u will be charged 2 cent per kb iirc

Yea, it's an advance plan. FFS.

So jailbreaking and using the tethered option is the only (free) way to go then?

Probably although I don't know how to do it
