    Hey!

I am carrying out a taught masters in biotech at the moment, I have been thinking about applying for a PhD scholarship, I have been in contact with a supervisor and have a project. I have had alot of negative feedback from people who have carried out a PhD, saying not to do it, its too stressful..etc etc.

I have worked in research for almost a year and at the moment have started the research project of my MSc. So I have experience in the area of research and feel I know what I am getting myself into, but it would still be nice to maybe have opinions from more people who have or are carrying out a PhD?

    Hey,

Alot of people said the same thing to me before I started my Phd- don't do it, it's waaay to hard... blah blah! I'm two years in (although my subject is quite different to yours) and I don't regret not listening to those comments!

If you feel you know the area and you have done research for a year and you don't hate it now, then you should be fine. I think research is something you either like or hate.

The hardest part for me is staying motivated when the end seems so far away. A common problem among other PhD students in my department (including myself) is that sometimes too much procrastination gets in the way of getting things done!
