Just wondering what are the best type of pants to wear under waterproofs. I have been wearing jeans but they are completely unsutiable. I was thinking of just wearing cloth tracksuit pants under them. What does everyone else wear ?

There are all kinds of different makes and designs of trousers for outdoor use that would be miles better than jeans. The thing with denim is that when it gets wet, it clings to your skin and wicks heat away from your legs which isn't what you want, whereas most of the fancy man-made fabrics used for outdoor gear will in general behave much better in wet conditions and dry out much quicker when the rain stops. Personally I don't use waterproofs unless it's really lashing hard .. if it's just a shower I'll not bother, and usually my trousers are dry again in no time when it stops.

Myself, I have a couple of pairs of Craghopper Kiwi trousers that have served me well over the years ... http://www.craghoppers.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_13552_-1_38351_11051

I used to use those Craghoppers Kiwi trousers, but now I just wear €5 Dunnes Stores tracksuit pants. They weight nothing, wick and dry fast, and I don't care when they get wrecked.

    denim chaffs like a mother-****er :D

depends on the situation really, if wet and cold wear full length trousers, combats or other outdoor variations, if warmer shorts are a good idea to help keep cool, or just underwear either.
