Has anybody heard of this great little Australian band
they released their debut album Conditions a year ago but gained a following thanks to one of their songs "SWEET Disposition" been used in the film (500) days of summer.

Its a brillant little record and reminds me alot of another great Australian band The sleepy Jackson

any fans of theirs on here?

They were on Other Voices awhile back. Main song is okay but there are shades of Where the Streets have no name in terms of the guitar riff

whay are they being put in the alternative/indie section here? Temper Trap are so mainstream and commercial...

To answer that anything that is played on Phantom or appears in mags like NME is alternative. So Mumford and Sons officially fit that bill and assume that appiies to Temper Trap as well. But would agree they are not officially indie in terms of the sound

Yes in case of these two bands they have been given a lot of airplay on daytime radio re their two most obvious singles. Again I think there is a problem with the way some stations champion some indie acts. It seems to me some djs get attached to a particular group of songs and I dont think its particularly healthy. I can list maye five songs all from indie acts that have been played on one show and I dont think any of their others songs get the same attention.
So as such indie acts are as such being mainstreamed on the strength of maybe one song.
Trust me I enjoyed Mumford and Sons at the start but just lost my patience when Little Lion man was played over and over and over.

The boundaries of musical genres are very ambiguous. I don't even know what Alt and Indie really are anyway. I just noticed that this forum has people who have a similar taste to mine. I like to leave it at that.

Love your use of the word little... I picture them all being 5 foot tall with big puppy eyes :p

I've had the album for a few months now and it gets the odd spin - highlights for me are Love Lost and Fader. I've heard Sweet Disposition so many times at this stage it just does my head in, but nonetheless good "little" band indeed.
