Recommend a lightweight laptop

My 10 month old Dell Studio 15 had a nasty accident involving a glass of water at the weekend, and as a result I need to buy a new laptop:o. Can anyone recommend a lightweight laptop with an excellent battery?

My budget is €850. I've done some research and the Macbook Pro seems suitable but I'd rather stay with Windows. All I want to to be able to do is run Sims 3, Microsoft Word, iTunes and watch videos on it.
    Thanks

850 is probably overkill for what you're going to be using it for. Are you sure your Dell is completely dead? Even if it is in some way banjaxed it might be still worth something for working parts. So don't throw it away.

It seems completely dead. The water spilt on the touchpad and I wiped it off immediately and it worked fine for a while. An hour or so later the touchpad stopped working and when I turned off the computer I couldn't turn it on again:(. I left it in the hotpress for the weekend but no luck.

There's a class of laptops at the moment using low-powered CULV processors (ultra-low-voltage). They arent very powerful, but should be grand for word-processing etc. Kind of in between a laptop and a netbook.

The main draw is that they can make them very slim/light, and they can last a long time (depending on battery size).

    For example, Toshiba T130 Link

Thats just one example, there's rakes of them, some with slower single-core processors, and different screen sizes. If you're after something 'lightweight with excellent battery' i'd say they fit the bill nicely. Nice HP DM3 there on Amazon for £380 as well.

+1 i agree with something like the above, seems to fit the bill. However, i cannot see any of machines in that class running the Sims 3, even though it's a relatively light application compared to most games of it's vintage, without dedicated graphics i think it would struggle, not too sure it would run at all.
