Exterior insulation

    Hi i have a 1930 red brick semi Detached house and would like to insulate the exterior as there is no cavity ,just brick against the concrete block.
    I would like to render the house over the insulation do i need planning permission.

    If you are in a conservation area you will need permission . You need to check your local authorities development plan - specifically , the development plan map of your area

    It not a conservation area all the houses on the road are all different designs some half plastered some all redbrick

    hi ..well i would check with you local authority re guidelines first... its no problem rendering over the insulated panels also.. plus sustainable energy ireland are giving grants to insulate your house at the moment.off hand i think you get 4500 thousand for the exterior.. if you need any further help i'd be glad to
