When someone says, 'it doesn't matter,' does it usually mean it DOES matter?

When I say it, it means 'It doesn't matter'.
I can't speak for anyone else, though.

Nice to hear that Kiera! Most times to me, it appears that guys use the expression genuinely, whereas any time a female has said to me,I certainly hear it as a threat! :o

This thread doesn't matter. In the real sense of it's term.

Edit: Yeah come to think of it, that's usually the case.

It's worse when a female replies with "Nothing"....cos then you have to figure the whole thing out yourself...

This should really be in PI...

OP: You've done something to her and it most definitly does matter.

It's going to be difficult, you need to know what you've done or what she wants but the problem is you should already know what you've done or what she wants.

    Enjoy :pac:

It depends on the tone..... and on the person.

If I say "It doesn't matter", I mean it. The only exception is if someone genuinely feels bad about something they should have done, and I feel sorry for them.

Generally, if it's a female, and the tone of voice is soft, eyes downcast; She's hurt, or saddened.

A male on the other hand, will generally raise his voice slightly, which usually means he's angry......and he might be angry because his feelings are hurt, but not necessarily.

Men can be every bit as confusing as women.......:D:D

Well I suppose people do use it correctly enough. Usually when it's said people either mean "It doesn't matter" or "It matters to me but nevermind". The latter is another way of saying the former, so really it never matters.

    Obligatory:

"When a woman says nothing's wrong that means everything's wrong and when a woman says everything's wrong that means EVERYTHING'S wrong. And when a woman says something isn't funny you better not laugh your ass off!"
