How do i go about reporting assault?

I was assaulted last night, punched on the head about 3/4 times which also resulted in some open wound cause i was bleeding. It was scary. It still is. Even though i feel fine, i stayed at home today just to watch for any unusual signs and go to the doctor if needs be. Can i still end up with problems, even though im fine now?

I never had to report an assault, but what will happen? What will happen regarding garda clearance for the other person? Can it affect their possibilities of not being cleared? The person works as a childminder and has got a visicious temper - she shouldn't be working with kids - it only takes a few seconds to do some damage.

Firstly go to your dr and get it checked out, this way there is a medical record of the injury and the dr can if needs be atest in court about it. Also take pictures of it and then go to the garda and say you want to report want happened and press charges.

Yep definitely go and get any head wound/injury checked out by your doctor. He/she can advise you if you need any further treatment or testing beyond having it checked out.

Doucment the evidence as well if you want to press charges.

What the police do when you report this is dependent on the circumstances of the assault in a lot of cases. However, presuming you know the person, it shouldn't be too difficult to press charges

    Does this person mind you?

And do report it how dare they attack you and cause you harm :(
Take care and stay away from that person.
