yes there is plenty of self catering accomodation. A lot of campsites have chalets for hire. It will be peak season in July so will be expensive. There is a lot of choice between Nice and Antibes, you will be a stonesthrow from the beach and train stations. Im heading there for a month in 2 weeks time, this time im going to try my hand at camping. Ive been to the Nice region many times, great place.

Use google maps and put in campsites/camping Nice in the search option. Click on the campsites for their websites and away you go.
