Me and my twin brother (identical!) are going to DCU this year,we've looked around for a bit but can't find any specific details on many of the appartments.
I'll get to the point,we're smokers,we need a place where we can smoke (don't mind smoking outside if the place has a balcony),bring guests over without too much hassle (a.k.a. not on campus),and still be within drunken-walking distance of the campus.

inb4 "give up smoking the two of yis" :D

    Cheers lads!

Yes but unfortunately Shanowen has a strict no-smoking policy, and they don't have balconies that we could smoke on,and bejaysus I'm not runnin' down just to have a smoke!

Looking for a place that either permits smoking or has balconies that we can smoke off of.
    Cheers.

I know of a few people who are renting houses just across the road from the college. Look around and see if theres any rooms free?
also have you looked at Gateway Student appartments? they'd be bout a 10 minute walk.

Smoking AND drinking? Real wild one there... :P

If you got Shanowen ground floor you'd be fine. That or a house is what ya want.

My thoughts exactly. You can smoke in Shanowen, I was never told otherwise, and my friends have been doing it for two years.

    another off topic one...

Is this whole "you have to arrange for visitors the day before" for the campus accommodation strictly enforced or is it just one of those things they don't bother with? Cause that would be really annoying I think...

Doing the LC this year, want to do law...

If you're coming in after half eleven at night onwards, they might stop you, certainly in the middle of the night, but any time before that and you're grand.

You can always go to res before they close and just say "sorry didn't have time to do it earlier, was in lectures, can they stay?" and usually they say it's fine.

It's never been a problem for me, and this is my second year here in res

same, this is my 2nd year here, never been a problem but paying €5 each time to get someone on the guest list is a real pain in the hole
