My car has used 5 litres of oil in 24 hours
I was away from home and i ahd to keep refilling it to get home
The last time i put oil in i drove for 3 minutes and the oil light came on again
Im pretty sure i have a very bad oil leak
Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to fix roughly?

Is it possible you might of driven over something and cracked the oil sump?
There is something serious wrong, not possible for anyone to give you rough idea of cost until you know where oil is leakinf from.
Was it serviced recently, could the sump plug be loose.

    Was last serviced in november
But havent been driving it much
When i got out of the car the oil tank was boiling hot and i had to take my hand away to stop it getting burnt.

its suposed to be that hot! have you checked the dip stick? is there any oil visible under the car? Is your coolant level mysteriously rising?

sh1t they're right it looks like you have been putting oil into the cooling system / radiator. no wonder the oil light is still coming on

Oil tank  Perhaps that's the radiator, surely you haven't been filling the radiator with oil ??

Oil tank? There's no oil tank in a modern car. You just pour it straight into the engine. And BTW, if your car is leaking that much oil you'd see it on the ground. More likely that it's being burned.

And I think you've just filled your radiator with engine oil.

Turn off the car & call someone who knows for sure where the oil & water goes.
What kind of car is it?

Thats mental, if the oil was poured into the raditor,
Hope the OP didnt make such a big mistake.
Never come across this before, once knew a man who kept
filling he's engine with oil till in the engine was full.
That was one messy engine clean up job.

what happened with the overheating beemer?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,763 ✭✭✭Muckie

He popped he's bonnet up, to let some cold air in as he
    was driving down the road,
Bonnet lifted.........smashed window and fecked up bonnet.
Ouch on the pocket. No more overheating worries for a while though.
Motoring is just full of adventures!
