My 96 fiesta classic fails to start when the weather is hot, When i turn the key nothing happens but the small red light under the time display flashes repeatedly. If i open the bonnet for a while and let cool air into the engine bay it comes back to life and starts also the red light stops flashing. thanks

My guess would be a temp sensor, if not the air intake
theres a MAF sensor, maybe try cleaning it.
If in doubt try your local mechanic.

That red light in the time clock is the immobiliser indicator. There's a wee chip inside the plastic key grip that the car relays a signal to. Have you a big bunch of metal keys on the ring? If so it could be obstructing the signal.
The other possibility is that the key has gone faulty so try using the spare.
