After about 20 years rotting away, I dragged the old Krone Optimat muck spreader in to the shed. After I knocked off all the rotten timber, the chassis and axle seemed in good condition so I had intended to cut the gear box/drive shaft etc. out of it and just make a flat trailer. Now the aul fella has managed to free up the driveshaft etc. (WD40 + a lot more patience than I have) So we are gonna try to fix it up and get it going again. Anybody know where to gets parts for something like this? I want to do it up properly with correct colours & decals also.

Maybe try Farmhand ? There were and still are the krone importers for Ireland.

have/had an old krone 3500 silage wagon, the steel in it was as soft as sh1t,
imagine your dungspreader cant be much better.
id check it over very well before doing any refurb on it, hate to see it cracking up after only a few load of dung.
go around it with a good sledge hammer, giving it a good few heavy slaps, to see if any old cracks open up.
our old wagon had more welding rods than steel in it when she was parked up

The steel wasn't the major issue it was the timber sides and floor. The muck ate it as the uncle never washed it out properly. The floor was the first to give way, thats when it was abandoned. The channel iron forming the frame needs to be replaced but the underside seems fine.
I doubt it will be doing any heavy work, just doing it up to get it back to its former glory!
