    Howdy all,

I recently found out that I have my college place for September 2010. I checked my account on the college website and my account status went from "interviewee" to "offered" :D

Now the thing is, what will I do with regards to study? The course doesn't have any points requirements and I already got in. With the amount of days I've been losing all year due to my health, I don't see myself getting brilliant points. What should I do?

Find people who are already in 1st year and have a chat. Talk to the college and find your future lecturers. Find out what you'll be covering and get started. A few months of light preparation will make a huge difference and you'll also get a good idea if the course is for you.

Do You have to pass the leaving cert to get in?
If so you should concentrate on English Irish Maths at least.

I would just do your best. Don't kick back and get complacent, it's a bad habit to get into. Plus you never know when a decent LC might come in handy.

Do the LC to the best of your ability. The college course might not be what you thought it would be and you may need your LC results to reapply for another course. Heck, I am doing an MSc and 1H1 from BEng and I still get asked for my LC results when going for interviews.

Yes, I'm with the others on this. Do the best you can and don't have a set of Leaving Cert results you're embarrassed by. And, as has been pointed out you never know when future employers will want to know what you got in your LC. As the career guidance counsellor in the college I went to said on orientation day "Getting into university is not a career".

Focus on your LC, don't get too stressed as you've already been offered a place, but a good LC is such a useful thing to have. If you find out this course isn't the course for you it keeps your options open and means you can qualify for other courses.
