Autograss racing/Hot rod racing

Hi guys i was wondering is there anyone here in boards.ie land that could answer a few questions. I'm thinking about getting into autograss racing or hot rod racing but,

I know you need a licence but where do you get it?
Are either big in ireland?
Whats the best way to go about getting started, i figure go to a few races first

presuming your in dublin?... the nearest autograss club would be downautograss.... http://downautograss.jimdo.com/
at the moment there are 6 autograss clubs in ireland and at the big meetings there can be up to 200 cars racing
best way to get involved is to head along to a few meetings and have a chat with a few people.... think the next event is in down on the 17th and 18th of april.. you can sort out your liecence on the day with the club secretary...
