One was zapping channels tonight and came upon a prog covering computer security on http://www.direct8.fr

Probe isn’t into direct8 style tabloid TV for the record. But they had a good item on computer security which grabbed one’s attention for a few minutes.

It showed people the risks of keystroke loggers leading to bank account fraud, the need for companies to equip their employees with VPN infrastructure before they are allowed to access the corporate network from outside, and other little irrelevancies along the lines of how vulnerable the US electricity grid is to malware attack - the most vulnerable grid in the world according to direct8.

They also covered other boring topics like the vulnerability of insurance companies, banks and emergency services to cyber attacks – which could do mind boggling damage in a worst case scenario.

National TV networks need to educate the public to the risks of cybercrime.
