    Hi all,

Any word on iTunes Movies for the Irish store these days?

I'm thinking that when the iPad is launching, a major selling point is the ability to watch movies on it.

Would this not be a disaster if you can't purchase movies from iTunes?

I have an apple tv and have to get US vouchers ...serious pain!

I doubt it will be any time soon to be honest. We are too small a market to worry about. Factor in that half the country doesn't have any sort of decent broadband, they people left who would use it are small in numbers.

Evan if they do launch I'd still use the US store as the selection here would be dire!

Yep I'd recommend setting up a US account. It's not difficult at allbnut you will have to source some US iTunes gift vouchers. I'd avoid eBay for gift vouchers as there have been many reports that sellers on eBay were buying iTunes gift cards using stolen credit cards, and As a result Apple would close down the iTunes accounts of those using the dodgy gift vouchers. I had a link to a legit seller but I'd have to dig it out.

Not a chance for the moment anyway, it's due to our rubbish broadband, if Irish account holder were to download movies from iTunes; it'd take so long that the Appl severs would get bogged down. My advice is to set up an American account OR use some T**rents.

Just Checked my itunes "Irish" Account and I see that movies are now available for rent(€2.99)/purchase (€7.99 and up).
