Great news for this legend of horse racing. Great ride and truly deserves his win

A bit of a sour taste was the absolutely disgraceful SP of 10/1. Was trading at about 18 on Betfair when I checked a minute or so before the off. Many once a year punters will have backed this horse and, IMO, will have been well and truly ripped off

Great for AP to finally have this under his belt - he's certainly been waiting long enough for it! Just goes to show that if at first you don't succeed....

Even though I had Black Apalachi backed e/w I didn't find myself roaring him home. Delighted for McCoy & I'll take my place win on Black Apalachi. Especially after having the winners in the previous 2.

Black Apalachi ran an absolute blinder. Great horse and a great jumper over those big fences

Fantastic race aye. I'd have liked to see how he finished had he not crashed through the 2nd last but as I've said you can't begrudge McCoy.

There's a thread here to facilitate the discussion of betting prices for the Grand National. Let's keep this one for discussing McCoy's win.

Even though i had had Black Aplachi, State of Play and Big Fellas Thanks all each way (3 out of 3 :D), I couldnt help myself cheering on AP McCoy.

A true great of our sport and hopefully he will now get the recogniation for the wider public which he deserves.

What price for him to win the BBC Sports Personality of the year? :D suppose it depends how england does in the world cup

Its funny how these things work out. Loads of people in racing talking about McCoy getting a SPOTY Nomination and others saying it ought to happen when he wins the national. Well, there you are!

if state of play was challenging mc coy close home i wouldnt have
minded one bit mc coy ruining my bet
fair play to him and about time it happened
    The man is a legend
he may never win spoty because he's just in the wrong sport
if he won the gold cup, champion hurdle, champion chase and the
national he still probably wouldnt win it

Delighted to see him add it to the resume.

He still hasnt a hope of the BBC award though sadly.
