For everyone who doesn't know, Japan Day is running tomarrow in the Farmleigh estate in Phoenix Park tomarrow. Looks like a great family day for all, including cosplay and other great events!

Great! So... I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to get there?? I just moved to Smithfield and I've often been to phoenix park (entering from the smithfield side obviously), but a friend of mine tells me that because of the size of the park we could be talking a two hour walk to Farmleigh....

Does anyone know different? What's the best route to get there? If anyone could direct me, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks! :)

Farmleigh is at the other end of the park to the Smithfield/Arbour Hill end so it probably would be a good hours walk. You could get the 37 bus like it says on the website from Blackhall Place and get of at the Castleknock entrance to the park. 15 mins walk from there.

Or if you were prepared to fork out, you could rent a bike at the Conynham Rd entrance and have a very pleasant cycle up through the park to Farmleigh!

Saw lots of people cycling up to Farmleigh today and it should be a good day tomorrow :)
Apparently it's the first Hanami Day in Ireland. Make sure to bring a picnic!

If you walk at a brisk pace the journey will only take you an hour, then you could get the shuttle back to Parkgate St and the Luas home. It's a nice walk if the weather is fine.
