    hey gang

just wondering if there is a free app available anywhere that lets ya send text for free, allows ya to access your saved phonebook, and just auto logs in say.

Im sick of having to loginto the metwor website everytime just to send a text message home!

    thanks very much,
    Ed

Although these won't send texts for free, they'll save you from logging into the meteor website each time you want to send a text.

Jelly SMS will do the job, you can send your webtexts from the app itself. Or if you want a paid app you can go for the Eirtext desktop version.

    Hope that helps!

safari - opens in two seconds.

    bookmark the webtext page.

use the save password option when you log in (enable autofill in prefrences) - then dont delete cookies in safari

click the bookmark as soon as safari opens and you can be sending a text within 10 seconds.

It has a phonebook option on that webpage.

Or you could add as your homepage or the speed dial for quicker access. homepage would have you sending a text in less than five seconds and if you want to search google the search box is there next to the url bar.

I've used both jsms and eirtext.
    Both are great little apps.

However,I'm using only eirtext on my iMac and iPhone now.
What gives it the edge for me is the ability to use your address book in the app.
Vinny(the developer) is a sound guy to deal with too.
I know you were looking for a free app but at 3.99!!!

2 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds.... All depends on your internet speed.

if you can not open a webpage in less than 5 seconds is downloading an app - the best solution for them?

safari opens in 2 seconds - takes another 2 seconds to click the bookmark.

then i left 6 seconds depending on the persons speed - me it takes about the above time because i have 3mb which is decent.
