They should see you today in the dental Hospital iof you phone and say you have a swelling. If you have a swelling you may need anitbiotics and a doctor could provide a prescription until you can see a dentist

If you can't get a dentist, ring an on-call doctor.

Isn't it mad how difficult it is to get hold of a dentist or your own GP on a weekend? I suppose no one ever gets ill or a toothache outside office hours...!

OP - if you can't get hold of a dentist today, you could go to an out of hours GP (the only one I know of is in the chemist beside BOI on O'Connell street) and they may give you prescription painkillers. I had an abcess before and I know over the counter painkillers are next to useless :(

In the time you've wasted here you'd have found a dentist. There's loads working in dublin on saturdays. get out the yellow pages & Pick up the phone!

Hey thanks for the responses I did get to see a dentist on Saturday but hadnt been back online since so apologies for that. Went to Finglas which was open 10 - 1pm which was worth noting.

No pain any longer although still quite swollen and anticipating a nice root canal when I return to my normal dentist later today

    Thanks again
