"and THE BIG NIGHT OUT at. . . . .

CALVIN HARRIS, THE CORONAS, BITCHES WITH WOLVES and more in

The Academy Dublin 21st of April 2010

This is, quite simply, the BIGGEST event DITSU has ever done. Fact.

You are NOT gonna wanna miss this. No way, no how."

Not to be one to do the SU's publicity for them, but I thought people would be interested in this after the Rag Week thread.

It's not in the bit I quoted, but tickets for the gig alone are €15. There are some other options to include the Big Day Out as well.

So, after all the complaining about Rag Week and the lack of a night like this, what do ye think? Is it a case of the SU listening to us etc?

Saw that earlier, rag week was a bit of a mess. That however looks like a good day out, why aim to organise the "biggest" event they ever have now and not rag week is a bit beyond me.

Looks good to me. I don't know much about Bitches with Wolves, but Calvin Harris and the Coronas do it for me.
What's happening during the day in Punchestown? Is it horse-racing, or gigs or what?

As far as I know it's horse racing but there's a student area with better drink rates etc, and probably some other stuff. Sure full details are on ditsu.org .

Bit odd alright. I figure it's just the last hurrah from an otherwise mediocre year of ENTS. I can't imagine this being organised and saved til the end on purpose, it would make no sense with the "nobody emailed me asking for Calvin Harris" type of answer we got earlier in the year.

So here we are and yes the line up doesnt include big big bands, and I have no issues with that. I have been working since the start of July last year and I havent recieved one email from the 22,000 students that we have in DIT about what they want for RAG week. We have asked students at council and at class Rep meeting as we have our structure. We would love to put on big gigs and have them as cheap as possible.

Sorry if I got my earlier impression from the quote above, the way I read it did sound like that, though I guess that's the problem with the internet eh.
