Crooked front teeth

I didn't know who to ask about this.
I think over the last year i think my top front incisor nearest the right canine is moving, although it is slowly i have noticed a difference. It seems to be going in behind the very front incisor beside it.
Its basically cramping that wasnt there in the past. I am 22 and my wisdom teeth haven't come out. Could that be the problem? wisdom teeth at back starting to push the front teeth together?

It is worrying for me as i am not in a financial position for orthodontics. I know i need to see a dentist ASAP. Could someone recommend some dentists in dublin city centre or south dublin that accept a medical card?

thanks for any help you can give.

I don't think dentists will help people on the medical card anymore? Pretty sure I read the most they will do is pull a tooth now..

from what i can gather, your problem is mainly aesthetic. they're no decay or anything is there? the medical card won't cover any work that is cosmetic.
the wisdom teeth don't cause crowding. the evidence to support it isn't great, and people who've had them taken out still get crowding.

although you say you're not in a position to get it, ortho is probably your best option. you can always make an appointment with an orthodontist for an opinion and get an idea about what may be needed.

    Hi there

most people get some movement in their incisors in their 20's, it is called late lower incisor crowding. Usually it happens to the lower teeth and many believe that it is caused by the wisdom teeth. The incisors that were straight now become a little crooked.

As has been mentioned there is no strong evidence to link the wisdom teeth and late incisor crowding, and the College of Surgeons advise against removal of wisdom teeth to prevent lower incisor crowding. You could have the teeth removed and still get it!

You will probably need orthodontic treatment and this is not covered onthe medical card. You could just go for a consultation to find oput where you stand, some orthodontists offer free consultations but it is probably best to avoid these as there is no such thing as a free lunch.

As you are 22 they may move a little bit more over the next few years and then stop.

Given the precarious situation with the med card try get to a dentist to sort out any issues like decay or gum disease first. At least then it'll speed up any ortho work you may need.
