Cat repellent

Our neighbour's cat is driving our dog mental. He's a funny cat but he's taken pleasure in teasing him. Sitting on the garden wall staring at him, jumping down and giving him a slap and running off. And peeing on his kennel is his latest thing. We want our dog to be able to enjoy the garden because he loves being outside so does anyone know of any cat repellent or anything that would keep the cat away from our garden? I've heard of bottles of water, does that actually work? Nothing that would harm the cat obviously, just something that would keep him away and stop terrorising the dog. Woodies have organic cat repellent which I'll try to pick up tomorrow but just want to see if there's anything else out there in case it doesn't work. Thanks.

If it doesn't worry the dog, and it seems not as he is not retaliating, then I would be inclined to let them sort it out.

Our cat teases the collie here, but knows the danger and races up trees.

If your dog is content to let this happen?

The idea of the water bottles in that the movement of the water puts the cats off eg peeing in a flowerbed. and probably that is what the stuff you are buying is also?

Sooner or later the dog will make his feelings known.

That's the problem, he is upsetting the dog. He's such a quiet dog otherwise but the cat is driving him demented. We said we'd give it a few weeks but it's been well over a month now and it's relentless and it's making the dog become very aggitated and upset. And paranoid, even when the cat isn't around he's waiting for him. He's not vicious but he barks at the cat. And when he comes in to the garden for a fight the dog runs in to his kennel in fear. Plus the cat has a lot of cuts and very sore looking eyes - which we've said to our neighbour but she doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. I'm no expert but the cat looks like he has a lot of nasty things wrong with him, he doesn't look well at all so we don't want him giving the dog a slap or scratching him in case he gets something off him either. He might not getting anything off him but that's not the big issue here, it's how to get rid of him tormenting him. Other cats around the area are fine, they mind their own business but this guy is out to get him.

This wont harm the cat but should annoy him enough if it happens too often ! We have a number of cats and there is a neighbourhood Tom cat who fights with our 10 month old kittens. We recently got a water gun and squirted him a few times, seems to work quite well!
Don't let your neighbour see you doing it though!! ;)
