    hi,

i've the satellite up on the roof and i'm sure i've the dish pointing the right way as i'm using a sat finder and compass. also on my triax sr110 box it show good signal quality and strength for some of the tp settings although not all of them on the astra 2/eurobird satellite setting screen. when i search for channels all i seem to find is german and french channels but none of the ones i want like bbc's itv's etc.
any help or advice would be great as i'm doing this on a shoe string and i don't want to have to call a 'cable guy'!

I hate to point out the obvious but you're not on Astra 2D, mostly likely one of the Astra1's. Move the dish a little more to the left and dip the elevation slightly and you should be bang on(where are you located?). What size dish are you using?

    Hi,

If you are getting French and German channels, it sounds like your dish is pointing at Astra1 @ 19,2E. You can double check simply by picking a tp in your channel list and compare the channels you are getting with Lyngsat charts on their website.

Just twist the dish a little to the left, astra 2 has a very strong signal so you'll pick it up very easily. When you find it just fine tune from there!
