    Hi all, am currently in 2nd year of business but i was just wondering what the story is with the choices for third year, for example if i want to go into the accountancy stream do i need certain results from my accountancy tests in first and second year?

    If your in the HCBS you need a 50% average to get in to any of the level 8 degrees including the accountins stream and you need to have passed everything, you cant carry subjects in to the degree. ie Autumn repeats being your last chance to pass them.

    If your doing the BBS i dont your average matters, and i think you can probarly carry subjects in to 3rd year aswell.

    I dont think your results in accounting in particular matter at all.


    As someone who studied accounting before i would advise you not to, as you will die a little inside every day.:pac:

    I dont know if you made you choises yet but you need a 50% average t oget into any of the BBS honours courses,
    however if you dont get this you may be eligable for the BBus one year add-on degree.
    In both cases you MUST pass all your exams they have become incresingly strict on student carrying exams between courses.

    If you decide you would like the switch to the pure accounting degree not stream you may be required to have a 60% average in you accounting exams.

    Im a third year BBS student doing the accountancy stream. You pick any stream you want (They are accounting, HR, economics and finance, marketing and management). They may not all be on offer though it depends on demand for each stream. They all ran this year as far as I know. I would advise you to do the one that you like the most and think hard before you choose!

    As far as I know you can carry two exams into third year just like first and second year (I didn't have any to carry so don't know for def).

    I dont really know how any of this works for HCBS or any other students, this is just from a BBS perspective.
