Calibration/testing

Saw something a bit strange at about 1:20am today. It went on for at least 20 mins before I called it a day.

A turboprop flying a load of circles and various patterns over and around Howth harbour, Howth Hill and Ireland's Eye on the entry to landing on EDIW-28. (FAF 53° 24' 32.6" 06° 03' 02.6", D9.1 DAP)

Could this be some calibration exercise? Any more info?

Could have been, just I've never seen anything like this in decades of watching a helluva lot of planes go by here. Seemed to do a few approaches from the directions of TULSO, ROKNA and LAPMO.

Beech 200 G-FPLE of Cobham Flight Inspection was on a calibration detail at Dublin all day yesterday.
