A Muslim woman was killed Thursday in Australia when her burqa got caught while she was driving a go-kart.

The 24-year-old woman's head covering snagged in the vehicle's wheels, immediately strangling her, according to the Daily Mail. The vehicle then crashed.

Paramedics quickly rushed to her aid, but doctors at the local hospital were unable to revive her because of the severity of her neck and throat injuries.

I've heard of Xtremist Muslims but I do feel sorry for her

Yeah well.......they insist on wearing the scarf. Some fine day people are going to realise that religious nonsense does not mix readily with the laws of physics.

Still won't stop any of them wearing it though.

No, some fine day people are going to realise that loose and flowing articles of clothing do not mix readily with machinery. Be it a scarf on a go cart, or a string ties on escalators etc.

    LOL!

If it was a normal wooly scarf you wouldn't say that though. Someone dying in a pretty nasty accident shouldn't exactly be a rallying call to complain about burqas. Time and a place.

You could have given a warning with that pic. Way too graphic for me.

    horrible thing to happen..

why is their religious headwear allowed to go ahead of health and safety though?
Like, if it's that important to her to wear it then she shouldn't have been allowed on the go kart.

Apparently, they have this burqa-swimsuit too which makes Sydneys Muslim lifeguards look more like seals to the prowling sharks who eat them more readily.

Don't want to come across as a dick, but I'd put money on it if this was a 12 year old kid who somehow died in similar enough circumstances (scarf getting caught perhaps?) nobody would be making these jokes, they'd be expressing their condolences.

I love how beneath a layer of liberal attitudes and political-correctness in Ireland, everyone has nothing better to say than laugh about this because it was a caused by a Burqa.

What productive comments could people make?

There are no lessons to be learned from this, it's just something weird that happened.

I know that, what I meant is if this was say an Irish child / teen who died in a odd Go-Kart accident by say a scarf (most similar situation I can think of) how many people would be cracking jokes about it then.

I do agree though, she shouldn't have been let into a Go-Kart in the first place, and ye, I would like to see Burqas banned.

The lesson is don't go Karting in a Burqa!

That's why the Saudis don't let women drive.

Legislate for mandatory wheel guards for go karts obviously.

That machinery and loose clothing don't mix, whether it's a go cart, escalator, lift etc. Don't know about you but I always check myself before getting on an escalator, to make sure nothing is trailing/dragging... laces, scarf etc.

If only it was that innocent of a reason..

There was a girl in England I think that was recently strangled by a scarf getting wrapped up on the rear axle of a Go-Kart.

That's a lie, it took them ages to get to her because when they saw someone in a burqa driving a vehicle into a wall screaming everyone ran away.

I disagree, if it was a kid wearing a scarf on a go-kart I'd call him/her a retard, just as this bint wearing a burka on a go-kart was a retard.

Er given this story comes from Faux News quoting the Daily Heil does the double negative principle mean that maybe it actually did happen ?

Why should the law protect a mentally competent adult from themselves ?

Gear trouble is a common problem in go-karting.

    Well that's another argument entirely.
In this case however it should have been a case of.. Take off the burqa or don't go on the go kart, one or the other.

Sad no matter why it happened. Just a kid FFS. Luckily pretty instant anyway.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
