Got a Swiss Arms SA1 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle, my first Airsosoft gun, just for a but or arsing around in the yard. Also got a Swiss Arms 5 x 42E Compact Scope with Illuminated Reticule.
Im not the greatest at setting these things up and the instructions on the scope are a bit awkward, well so I think anyways. Also, will the hop up need adjusting? Like I said I am not the greatest at setting these things up at first, so anybody else that uses these items, let me know how you got on with them, and what you thaught of their action and satisfaction level with them, and how you set up the scope and adjusted the hop up..thanks.

The hop-up will indeed need adjusting (if it's adjustable). The instructions should tell you where to find it, but it's generally either a wheel that you turn or a knob that you slide back and forth. In a big space, shoot the gun, see if the BB curves upward or not. If not, turn the hop-up on further, repeat until you see the BB curve up, then back it off a bit and try until the BB flies straight for as far as possible.

To zero the scope, there's knobs on it, which are probably labelled Up (or Down) and Left (or Right). That's the direction you want to move the point of impact. Look down the scope when it's attached where you want, aim at something definite a decent distance away, and fire. If your shot lands up and right from where you're aiming, for example, twiddle the knobs in the down and left directions, and keep doing that until it's hitting bang in the middle of the cross-hairs (or technically, until the cross-hairs is pointing bang at where the shots are hitting).

I haven't any experience with the specific kit you've got but looking at pictures of them online that's the basics of what you need to do. Regarding opinions or how to attach, I'm afraid I can't help you.

I cant help you with the scop, but as far as the hop up goes, its on the left hand side just befor ethe end of the wooden bit. You shoudl see a piece of black metal poking out of the wood, with the words up to the left, and down to the right. Thats how you adjust the hop up
