Me and my mates wanna go somewhere in Ireland for a day road trip this saturday and we can't really decide where to go.

I was thinking about the ring of kerry/dingle peninsula. But it takes quite a while to get there from Dublin and we'ld spend a lot of time just driving to there and driving back from there.

So I need ye guys advice on some good place to go for a day...
Somewhere with scenic roads and views so I could take loads of pretty pictures!

Carlingford is a nice town and if it's sunny I recommend climbing up the nearby hill. Lovely views over the bay and Mountains.

^That was another place I had in my mind. Been there once, its a nice place. Not too far either, that could be another option...

Newgrange and Monasterboice - when weather is good it's really beautiful.

Do ye guys know what road Clarkson is driving on at around the beginning of this video, by the coast?

As I might be going to Carlingford, I might check out that road as well, if its not too far away...

The glens of Antrim by the looks of it. A bit past carlingford, more a weekend trip.

glendalough in Wicklow, the most beautiful county in Ireland and only a short hop from Dublin. You won't spend all day driving.

Dingle and Kerry would be more of a weekend trip, it would take you 5 hours to get to Dingle alone from Dublin. I have done driving weekend in Kerry and it was great.

I would also suggest Carlingford Lough - was up there for the first time before Christmas and it's beautiful around there, Warrenpoint, Rostrevor etc
