Anyone given this a look yet?

I wouldn't be a huge fan of James gorben(I'm not actually sure what his second name is) but I have enjoyed all of these and I think I'm begining to think freddie flintoff is a bit of a hero despite me hating him before watching the show.

I really do love bow they give jamie redknapp such a hard time.

It makes a nice change to have something funny on a Thursday night anyway.

Georgie Thomson makes it worth watching!:pac:

watched it a few times and really like but my god jamie redknapp is thick, the answers he comes out with during the quick fire round are just stupid.

TBH this prog it's cringeworthily bad.As for Georgie Thompson (something common about her looks&I dislike her voice);I'd be more of a Millie Clode admirer

    It's like a modern-and-less-funny "They Think It's All Over"

I think John Bishop makes the show, if it wasn't for his comments I would be turning off. Flintoff can be funny when telling his alcohol fuelled stories. Thought it was funny tonight when the questions was "name footballers married to popstars" and Redknapp did not name himself for ages despite Bishop screaming at him. To not consider your wife is a popstar is quite funny.

Your man bishop was hilarious. Was almost crying with the laughing when he shouted over to redknapp.
The presenter is a bit of a tit but overall I really enjoy the show.
When haye was on it with haye on his top and redknapp made a comment about people who do that are prats, or something along those lines was really funny.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

Ya they were on a about maradonna and redknapp said what kind if a cock wears a tshirt with his own name on it and then he saw hay had it. Priceless actually!

That and when ya one from Gavin and stacey was funny enough too.

I think I'm slowly falling in love with georgie though.

Sure you need only watch him do match analysis on sky to know this

I've really enjoyed this show the few times I've watched it, agree with most of the other comments, John Bishop is hilarious, Jamie Redknapp's thickness is entertaining, the presenter gets on my tits, but it's enjoyable

Oh and Freddie is a total hero:D:D

    He is though isn't he?

Like he pretty much represents everything that pisses me off but on last nights show I was saying to myself I really wanna pull an all night session with him.

His story of him robbing the peddle boat thing last night was fairly funny.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 520 ✭✭✭damselnat

Yeah, he's definitely on my Fantasy Drinking Buddies list!! I loved when they had to hold those log things up and Freddie was there for ages looking totally cool, and Jamie Reknapp went up to do it and looked like he was about to pass out! Love the way they all rip the p1ss out of each other as well, it's just good lighthearted fun

Anyone see this last nite? though John Bishop was so funny when he stripped of to his swimming togs!!
and see Jimmy Carr when he realized he had to put his head under water!! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,062 ✭✭✭dlambirl

Didnt see it last night but I think there is a repeat on tonight at some stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,295 ✭✭✭✭Duggy747

I dunno where all the love for the host came from (Gavin & Stacy isn't THAT fantastic), he's treated like an national English treasure.............flavour of the month, I guess.

I do find this funny, though. Bishop is definitely the staple of the show.

The Umpire Strikes back on ESPN Classic I think is better

I'm not a fan of his either it's fairly obvious all his jokes a written too.

think it might have been a charity match or something along those lines.

Funny show, but they need to lose Jamie "the lights are on but theres nobody home" Redknapp. Rather than being funny he seems intent on high fiving whoever is sitting within 20 yards of him

I purposely avoid anything featuring James Corden. Unfunny twat.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,238 ✭✭✭✭Diabhal Beag

James Corden, John Bishop and Jack Whitehall. This is the perfect show if you like that in your face whichever British channel you look. If not steer well clear.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,193 ✭✭✭✭Basq

It's a great show... but it's as much about sport as Top Gear is about cars.

To be honest.. Bishop, Corden and Whitehall always deliver IMO.

Some of the sporting guests can be dry-shi*es (McIlroy to name just one), and it works better when they're comedian panelists (Carr etc.)

I thought the Athletics girl was halirious this week. She really did seem as sharp as a tac.

I didn't used to be a fan of Jack Whitehall at all but he has had me in pain with some of his gags. He plays up the middle class tosser act very well.

I think Gordon gets a very hard time unjustly. I think he seems like a decent guy and he can be very funny too.

All in all my Friday night wouldn't be the same without this show.

Corden! But I agree with you, it was a good episode. Couldn't stop laughing at Jimmy Carr on the hamster wheel. I am so easily amused.

Jack Whitehall is one of those comedians that's far too easy to dismiss as a twat.... but he's actually one of the more quickwitted young comedians working today.

Plus watch his performance in 'Fresh Meat' - he's really excellent!

He definitely gets a lot of unfair criticism. I really like him though.

Cordon is a lad who is "cool to hate" I reckon. He is pretty funny in fairness and can take the piss out of himself which is always good.

John Bishop really doesn't like the Scouser jibes, was very funny this week when the athlete guest said he'd be very fast in the F1 car because hes a scouser and he's probably a good get away driver :D

The banter is usually decent enough on it, not as tame as I expected from sky. The ribbing Georgie Thompson about drink driving being an example :p

Redknapp though is just terrible, and the show seemed much better this week without him. Although he is decent for taking the piss out of, being so dim he sets himself up unknowingly for gags by the others.

Anyone watch the special 3 part road trip in US, very funny in parts, Freddie is a legend

Used to be a good show, but the last year or two it's just become so self-indulgent.

Jack Whitehall's jokes are painfully obvious.

Wrap it up for good I say!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,193 ✭✭✭✭Basq

    Love the game show..

.. but found the American Road Trip horribly contrived and heavily scripted!

It has now since Corden is a big hit in US with his chat show yes?

Dunno? I thought they were doing shows between seasons of his chat show? US road trip for example.

Corden is still signed on for another season..

.. and to be honest, I get the impression he loves doing it - so unless his chat show gets REALLY REALLY big - I'll say he'll sign for another year or two.

There's no reason why he can't do both. All they need to do is film the series while he is on a break with his chat show.

The US episodes were pretty dull though I did laugh when redknapp got the first hit in the spanking. That reaction was as real as it gets.

Sky1 has renewed A League Of Their Own for three more seasons, through to season fourteen; and picked up companion series A League Of Their Own: US Road Trip for a second season.

Used to enjoy this before but gave up on it last year. The constant fawning over whatever celebrity guest they had on was becoming very irritating plus all the singing by James, Jamie and Freddie etc.

Also that fcuking baby picture of Freddie's. It was funny the first couple of shows they showed it but then it was every show... said i'd give one of this season's shows a try, and what do I see another "baby Freddie" joke. It's gone so stale now that they are rehashing last seasons jokes.

Redknapp still don't like losing in new series of US road trip

Just watched episode 1 of series 13... Haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Tony Bellew's discomfort at having to any of the challenges was hilarious :D

Excruciating watching Jamie Redknapp looking to high 5 everyone whenever a moment presents itself.

That and calling everyone "Big man"
