Ok, just got an JG AUG A1 second hand today, and it is nice, but it does have its problems. The first thing is that it doesn't actually fire in semi, and the second is that the Hop up seems to be a bit f****d,as the first shot will droop down, then it will fire straight, then the last couple of shots willfly too high. Very strange. Also, pulling the trigger seems to take a fair bit of force. Not sure if this is normal, but seems to be a bit off.

So, does anyone have a solution to these problems?

    Any help is appreciated

Semi - Check the shuttle at the front of the gearbox.
Hop - Sounds like the nub is loose, open and examine
Trigger - BBs in the body, field strip and shake like fúck.

Take out the gearbox and check the wiring. If it's not firing in semi and is fine in full auto, then it's likely the wires to the semi contact are worn/broken or that the semi switch (inside the gearbox) is burnt out. The semi-auto contacts are the ones inside the box in front of the trigger - the wires are the ones going forwards form the motor (the contacts behind the trigger itself are for full auto only).

Removing the gearbox should also solve any stray BBs inside the body! ;)

As for the stray BBs - have you checked the condition of the hop rubber and nub? It might sound REALLY obvious, but is the barrel clean?

Thanks for the info. Will try the solutions in a few minutes for the Hop up and the trigger, but I think i'll pass on touching the gearbox. Last time I did it, it didn't go so well (ie it exploded).

on the topic of triger pull my A£ has the heaviest triger pull of anything i've ever seen, I think it's somthing to do with the way the fire select is built into the triger pull (pull half way for single fire) it's very heavy to pull to single fire and stupidly heavy to move to full auto.

can't really help on the other things, I don't plan to take it down untill it blows on me (shouldn't be too long :p)
