    Hi All,

My car alarm is a Gemini. It is turned off from under the hood. When I turn it on ,the LED in the window flashes ( as normal) , when I open the door the alarm goes off ( as normal) however, I cant seem to turn on or off the alarm via the Key Fob ( which I got a new battery for today, and it does light up when I press the button on it)

Would this be the Key Fob ? any suggestions please ? would be greatly appreciated ?

    thanks

You had the alarm a while? It worked before today?
Since the only change is the battery in the fob it seems that's your problem.
Remove and put battery back again? Maybe it lost its setting when battery was swapped?

thanks for speedy replies guys, i appreciate it.

I just got the car, and the guy said the alarm use to work, but he turned it off completly some time ago ( why I dont know ) , so it would be fair to say the battery on the fob has been dead a long while.
I did however replace the battery in the fob today, turned the alarm back on and it still doesnt turn it on or off ...

    ??????

He probably turned it off because it didn't work. I don't really see another reason for it.
You need to re-link it. What's the model number? Have you looked at the handbooks on the site?

fair play to you biko for the reply...
Thats the thing I dont know what the model number of the alarm is ! , all I can see under the hood is the Gemini Siren and there is a few numbers on a badge, not sure if they are the model numbers..

    thanks

Well as long as you can lock the car manually there's no rush.

Looking at Google, your issue seems somewhat common

I just opened a pdf on the Gemini website, there is some info it that one. It might be the same procedure for all their alarm to link fob to brain (or not).

    Also check out
    www.programyourremote.com/
    www.keylessride.com.
    www.keynfob.com
    www.remotes4you.com

    Maybe this?
    1. Make sure all doors, hood and trunk are closed.
    2. Open the trunk door.
    3. Open the drivers door and sit in the drivers seat.
    4. Close the drivers door.
    5. Turn ignition switch to on and off 5 times ending in off.(do not start the car turn to just before starting)
Your alarm light will turn on and the siren on the alarm will chirp to let you know it is ready.
(this can also be used to test if you have the alarm)
    6. Open the drivers door stay in the seat close the drivers door.
    7. Press any button on the remote. The light will flash to indicate your remote has been programmed.

Cool, could you be more specific? In case someone else stumbles on this thread later. Did any of our advice help or did you go to a shop?

HI Contacted the alarm crowd in the uk, who directed me to the user manual of which i downloaded.

It didnt really tell me what i needed to do, so i phoned them and the support guy very heplfully told me what to do.....

its a bit of a sequence and specific to every model, but it worked ! .... it basically paired up the fob with the alarm and re-learned the system
