    Hi,

I bought a couple of these grenades a while ago and have only managed to get them to go off in under 30 seconds a couple of times. Mostly, it goes off after a minute or so.

I've loosened the timer screw as much as I can and have bathed timer in silicone oil. But can't get it to go off consistently in under 30 seconds.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

How much gas are you using?
    What gas are you using?

Ultra air gas. Have tried between 2 seconds and 6 seconds of it.

Do you let the gas expand before use or do you use immediately?
Can you feel the trigger arm under pressure when you pull the pin?
Have you lubed the brass piston?

Was using it immediately. How long does it take for the gas to expand?

I've lubed everything... on the grenade that is... :-)

Depending on the environment you're in anything from 30 seconds to a minute.

Right start from scratch, arm the grenade, 4 seconds of gas, no bb's loaded (this won't damage your grenade). Wait a minimum of 1 minute and see how it goes.

My solution was to bin it and buy a couple of Thunder Bs instead.

    You might be right!

This has become a personal challenge for me now though... I want to get the buggers to work!!!

I originally used Green gas in mine but it took ten seconds to go off, made a pathetic liitle Pfff noise and only the bottom row of BBs came out. Then I switched to Ultra and the timer went down to 1.5-2 seconds with a good bang and lots of BBs ... once, after that the internals were blown. Thunder B fails me maybe 1 in 10 throws though the fuse is a bit long as standard.

Well, the update to this is that one grenade is now working nicely with a delay of around 3 seconds and the other is going off after less than one second.

I imagine that this is down to:

    1. The weather and increased temperatures
    2. Me bathing the entire greades in silicone oil and setting them off many many times.

My conclusion is that the timing is very sensitive to ambient temperature. On any given day, you'd need to test them a few times and adjust the timing to have any hope of consistency.

I want a couple of Tornados... they seem to be the business!
