just wondering has anyone done interrailing on their own? I'm a 21 yr old female who is considering going interrailing alone for a month this summer, mainly cos all my friends are either staying at home for the summer or off with their boyfriends. I'm a bit anxious about travelling on my own as I havent done it before and am worried abt safety issues (esp at night) cos I'm a (pretty scrawny!) girl. Are there any female posters that have travelled on their own before? What was your experience like, did you have any problems? Did u meet many ppl along the way? Are there partic things that I should watch out for? I wouldnt be the most street-wise person myself so any tips would be really appreciated!

I met many girls travelling by themselves while I was interrailing. Stay out of dark alleys, pal up with some hostel people for taxis etc if you're going on a night out. Just use your head and you will be fine. My solo interrail was simply amazing in every way and I'm jealous of you! Good luck and have fun.

    Hi cclittlec!!

Just wondering when you are planning to go travelling??
Because I am mad to go interrailing for 4-6 weeks during the summer, from around 28th June or that. I can't get any of my friends to come with - all broke!! I can't handle another summer in Ireland. Don't particularly want to start off on my own.
I'm a 24 year old female. Would love to go Central/Eastern Europe. Thinking of places like Dubrovnik, Prague, Split, Budapest, Krakow, Ljubljana, maybe Vienna!
I'd be very flexible though - a very easy going person!!
Anyway if you're interested in travelling with me or meeting up or whatever just let me now. I'd be looking to do it as cheap as possible but obviously staying in at least half decent hostels. Haven't really travelled before at all, only ever stayed 2 nights in a hostel in Edinburgh a few years ago and that was an experience to say the least!!

(I just copied and pasted this message from one I sent to someone else on this, sorry for the laziness!! :o )
