I have stumbled on Hector and tommy's podcast
and i regularly listen to the "Sunday supplement" a football show.

Can you please tell me what you are all listing to and why.

There's an entertaining Aussie called Dr Karl, who does a science Q&A phone-in on BBC5Live, I think 3-4AM on Thursdays, part of the UpAllNight programme.
    Podcast here

Dr Chris Smith aka The Naked Scientist is also good

If you're that way inclined ...

If you like the Sunday Supplement then here is a few soccer based suggestions that I listen to all the time:

    Football Weekly
from The Guardian with James Richardson and Guardian journos/ layabouts is pretty entertaining most of the time. They do two shows a week on Monday and Thursday and Sid Lowe is on every episode with an excellent La Liga Roundup

The World Footballl Phone-In on 5 live is very good. It's recorded on their Up All Night programme on Fri night/ Sat morning and they have Tim Vickery covering S. American Football each week and then some other expert from the USA, Africa or Europe and as the name suggests callers and emailers ask them questions about those leagues or players playing from each part of the world in England. Tim Vickery is excellent and there is a good bit of Banter too.

    Fighting Talk
also on 5 live can be pretty entertaining. Basically it is a ripoff of PTI and other American chat shows where they get journos, comedian's and sports people on and they each get points for the most entertaining answers to questions about what is happening in the world of sport.

If you like science, or just don't like bullsh*tters (snakeoil salesmen, homeopaths, psychics, etc), then the Skeptics' Guide to the Universe is excellent.

    Well informed, funny, intelligent, up-to-date...

It started in like 2005, and they have one a week, so there's plenty to get through if you're so inclined :)

That's if you can get past the fact that it's hosted by the most professor Frink-voiced nerds in existance.

The In Our Time podcast is brilliant and the Documentary podcast from the BBC can be really good (though there are some shocking stinkers in there)

"War of the Roses" is CLASSIC !

A New York radio station helps listeners test whether their partner is cheating on them.
They ring up their partner live on air, say they won a dozen red roses and do they have someone special they want to send them too.
At this point, they give the recipients name, address and a short message which usually completely hangs them.
At that point the girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife is on the same phone line and starts screaming at them.

Sometimes it's sad when someone is clearly heart-broken, but the angry ones are funny.
Like the wife who caught her husband cheating and the radio DJ's asked what she was going to do now... she said she was going to the bank!
Oh, he paid for that indiscretion I bet.

I'm going to recommend a little known american comedy duo known as the "two jacks in the hole".

    Search for them in i-tunes.

For 2 guys who make nothing doing it, funnier than any comedy that exists in this nation.

    I also like,
    - Guardian football podcast
    - BBC's fighting talk
    - Kermode movie podcast.

Kevin Smith (director of Clerks, Mallrats, etc.) has a good one, it's called smodcast. Usually very funny.

Hamish & Andy..... Two Australian comedy radio presenters who will actually make you laugh out loud. It's the podcast of their radio show.

Chris Moyles..... BBC Radio 1. Funny radio.

Scott Mills..... BBC Radio 1. Also very funny.

Greg & the Morning Buzz..... WHEB 100.3. Funny american breakfast radio.

The Greaseman.... Rock 105i. He's like a classic old american radio jock. Essentially it's the demented ramblings of an old man but it's damn entertaining.

The Ray Foley Show podcasts are good, usually totally random but good for a laugh.

Also the Ann and Al podcast, it gets sent out with the Ray Foley Show one on iTunes, that one's good too
