Ive came across duffys fishing and shooting store online and it seems to have a good selection of rimefire rifles. The CZ 452 - 2E ZKM AMERICAN costs €484.99 and looks like a nice gun. Is it good value? It will be my first rifle and I am thinking of getting the .22 for plicking and shooting rabbits if I can find any!:D

Duffys are hard to beat price wise on new gear in fairness, but after sales and customer respect lacks I have always found. Don't let that turn ya off tho as at the end of the day all any man wants is the best deal. Mentioned rifle is perfect for bunny bashing and ideal for mountin a scope also with the american stock.;)

Would you choose a live ammo rifle over an air rifle for plicking? (never used a rifle but have a 12 bore shotgun) thanks.:D

Look at all the websites and then PHONE every dealer you can across the country, look in the wiki section for dealers and numbers. You can get a better deal if your getting scope, gun bag, etc.

I bought my CZ style 22lr from Duffy's couple of years back.
The website said €400 phoned up Duffy's he said €450, every other dealer said €450 so I ordered from Duffy's website as they still had the old price shown.:D
3 months later got the license and collected the rifle.

I find a lot of the stuff advertised he had not got in stock in the old shop, but he has moved to a bigger premises lately.

I normally use him as a reference point for dealers who do not have prices readiily displayed:D

i went in looking fo a new 12g a while ago and all he had was a baikal in stock. he had no secondhand shotguns and just new baikals a waste of time.
he could order new o/u 12g but was no cheaper on price than other gun shops around.
as for rifles i dont know.

He never shows much interest in browsers, browsers can become spenders if there respected. Not too bad for ammo though and prices in general. Good line of stock.

Duffy's seem to have an "online" price and a shop price, and the shop price is seems to be higher. I was there lookinf for a nightforce NXS and was told the shop price, which i said was higher than the online price. I wasa then told that the online price was going to be increased to match the store price that evening. I said fair enough, I;ll think about it. 10 months later the online price hasn't changed and I'd bet the shop price is still higher

spot on, i purchased a harris bipod there a while back and online it was 10 euro cheaper, i argued in the shop but to no avail:mad: Still bought it though as what was the point drivin home for the sake of 10 euro without it. It's kind of scammy to me tbh:rolleyes:

Same thing happened me a few YEARS ago, amazing how the same s**t keeps re-occuring in the same place. I bet it was an o/u Baikal for 760euro:rolleyes:
Nothing against Baikals at all and am considering getting the semi auto in the future maybe as its a gem for the money. But they really should stock better.

I find duffy's good to be honest, always friendly anytime i've there and good value with anything i was buying. Brian even helped me out with a berreta a bought in another shop (Bought it up north at the time the exchane rate was great). I never used the old shop it was a bit out of the way for me but the new shop i find great. thats been my experience with duffy's but everyone has there own opinion...

That seem's like good excellent vaule to me. I paid e550 for the same model in .17hmr about two months ago out my way:mad:

Edit: Just read the full thread, so I don't feel as bad now, but it's still probably cheaper, but factoring in going from coast to coast might equalise it. Anyway, I love the one I picked in in .17, I heading out shortly with a few boxes of rounds to play with:)

If you are looking for a .22 there is a few for sale in the For sale section. They have scopes and extra mags ect. This could be a good value way of stating out and could save some money.

yes the 760 euro one with ported barrels. it might be a fairly ok gun but the finish was very poor.
he didnt seem too bothered whether i bought anything or not.
