So my brothers recently came into contact with a promo copy of Timesplitters 2 for €3, we popped it into the PS2 and were instantly reminded of how awesome this game was.

So sad that Free Radical went under during TS4's development, but at least a decent amount of the workforce is still together under Crytek UK.

Who else remembers this awesome series of FPS games?

I never played timesplitters but I only ever heard good things about these games, never knew the lads who made them went under which is a shame.

Who owns the IP for this now? Is there any chance it might get resurrected?

Not sure who owns the IP, but most of Free Radical now work for Crytek under the name "Crytek UK". If it gets resurrected, there's a chance that Star Wars Battlefront 3 will get resurrected as well, because FR were working on that at the time as well.

It'd be interesting if it came back. And to be honest since it's a good pedigree of a game I can't see too much blocking it from returning. It's automatically going to get a fair bit of hype if a new Timesplitters was released.

Speakign of games that could be released that never were, Starcraft: Ghost and Stargate: Alliance. I was fierce annoyed when they got shelved!!

Still have TS2 for ps2, one of my all time faves. it was great that you could create your own maps and the wacky sense of humor aswell, reminds me of the old days when you played against your mates in the same room rather than online

Loved this game had 1 and 2. I really liked the challanges, zombies or something random like break the windows.

I adored TS2 but i can only imagine a remake being disappointing. I cant see it fitting into the current market for some reason.

Who said anything about a remake? We're talkin' about a brand new entry to the series!

Yes. Poor phrasing on my part.

Halo 3 gets praised for having Forge, a supposed 'level editor' that really only lets you move a few crates and items around and was gash while Timesplitters 2 had a full level editor years beforehand.

What a game. Used to love playing it with my brothers.
The zombies mode was class. bots was class for offline too

Timesplitters 2 is possibly my favourite game of all time. I was addicted to it for a while. Had a marathon 14 hour session of multiplayer witha buddy the day I bought it. Frustrates me no end that more games don't have offline multiplayer with bots these days. Nothing has quite captured the sheer fun of that game for me since.
