Power tripping security guards

    hello all,

I just had a run in with a security guard at work tonight. I have been working at my current job for over 9 years and never had a sticker stuck on my car, until last week. they have stickers to stick on cars that are not parked properly, in disabled parking spots, and so on.

I got moved to nights 6 months ago and have not had a problem until last week, when this little F.U.C./<er started. he only covers Wednesday nights in our building, as we are the only one working nights.

now I know that I should park my car in a parking spots, but at 12 o'clock at night when the other shift is still working ( and not finished for another hour ) parking spaces are at a premium. I would under stand if there was a full shift coming in at the same time as me, but there is only another 6 cars coming in at the same time, and the next shift starts at 6 in the morning. my car is always moved to a spot by 2 o'clock, and is not impeding any movement of any other car coming in or out.

I would much like to hear any thoughts the good people of after hours have on this subject.

    Rdgs

I can't see too many people have much to think about this topic.

So the security guard doesn't want you to do, what you are not supposed to do?

I would shoot him in the face, but then again I've been playing a lot of violent video games.

Actually, this forum is for everything NOT work related, This thread is now about blimps. I saw a huge one up around bundoran there yesterday. Big blue one. Any idea what it was advertising?

    Power tripping security guards
Honestly, don't they know that you can't run a TV, PC, microwave and kettle at the same time off the one 3amp socket?

they have stickers to stick on cars that are not parked properly, in disabled parking spots, and so on.

    The answer is very simple.
Go to the doctor, pretend to be disabled and get one of those car stickers.
If anyone asks, say you're "leg disabled from acid" and fall down.

You're a little vague in your details but I think we can assume that you parked your car where you shouldn't have. So you're complaining about the chap doing his job. Quality stuff.

This reminds me of people who give out about clampers after being clamped, expecting to get sympathy.

You can just buy them in Halfords.

Speaking of power tripping, i was banned a while back by a security guard, story here.

Needless to say, that ban has been broken about 5 times since ;)

OP, apparently they can do what they want as its private property. If you feel aggrieved, contact the head of security and also your own boss to get it sorted.

Yes, some people just don't keep up with the programme, then come here looking for sympathy. The security guard should be running the country, and the OP's car should be permanently clamped.

So basically he was 'power tripping' by doing all he had in his power?
    You're a smart one OP, you'll go far ;)

    The meaning of your post?

Christ, your post was shallower then a rain drop and you expect people to see multiple meanings in it?

    Mother of god.

How dare he do his job....I mean the neck of some people. Next thing you know you'll have firemen putting out fires and doctors diagnosing patients.

Park where your supposed to park problem solved. Perhaps its yourself who is tripping on the said power as you feel above parking in designated areas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81,220 ✭✭✭✭biko

Guard put a sticker on your car because you parked in the wrong place and now he's power tripping? Aren't you being a bit over-sensitive about this? Maybe there's more to it.

    Mother of god.

I can't account for the people reading it..
Most people would get what it means and understand sarcasm too, I can assume now that you don't/
    That's ok. :)

So when you don't understand posts you like to attack the person who wrote them?
it's pretty clear that's all you're capable of doing..well done;)

    Guy turns up for new security guard job;

"what do I do if car parked improperly?"

    "put a sticker on it"

"do I have discretion if the driver is a whining little maggot and the shift is blah blah six cars blah blah loads of space in an hour?"

    "no. Get to work"

If you understoof my post 'perfectly' and didn't misinterpret it then you probably wouldn't have bothered replying, especially not the way you did.
You did so it's safe to assume you don't have a clue what I meant.

Fine, lets get into it then.

"So basically he was 'power tripping' by doing all he had in his power?

So, what you mean here is. The security guard has powers to do things, so if he does all he is allowed to do its not power tripping

Then you say the OP is smart but im guessing this is your legendary Sarcasm!!

what in gods name are ya talking about? i understand SV's post completely, and in my opinion, is completely right. The security guard is not doing anything wrong, he is doing his job, and SV (correctly) pointed out that the OP seems to think this is a security guard on a 'power trip'. whats not to understand?
