Eircom Broadband Exchanges

Hello, I live in Knockcroghery and I currently have broadband with a company that I will not say, which is so annoying I would not wish it on my enemies. I would love to get Eircom, BT or Perlico but apparently my "line does not support it". But I think this is bull. As my friend who live approx. 500 metres away from me has Eircom with 7Mb speeds. Now why am I not able to get it? Is there something wrong with my lines in particular. I rang Eircom and they said that I should be able to get it and they will send someone down to my house to test it, and guess what they never did. Any suggestions?

Reading back on this, it is more than a rant than anything else. But any answers? Thanks :)

Ring them again and ask them why the service engineer has not come out yet, they should rearrange it for you.

also, I'd just ask to speak to the manager automatically as atleast then if they don't chase up on it it looks extremely unprofessional.

Thanks, I was planning to do that. When I do I will post how it went.
