    Hi,

If a relocation package is being offered in a lump sum will it be taxed?
If I was to be taxed on the lump sum is it possible to claim back the tax in any way??

    Is it income? Then yes.

Well i presme it would be classed as income but when I show evidence of relocation costs, (flights, accomodation, moving costs) I presume I would be able to claim back on the tax

This is for moving from Ireland to Holland :o

Here are the guidelines for vouched expenses
    http://www.revenue.ie/en/business/paye/guide/employers-guide-paye-expenses.html#section4

Its your employers obligation and decision as to whether the payment is taxable .

    Hi

The revenues view is that it is the taxpayers decision where they chose to live and where they chose to work.

Therefore I would think that it would be taxable as pay even if the expenses are vouched.

    Kind regards
