I'll just copy and paste this from my mate in the UK's Facebook page. If anyone is interested in one I'll ask him if he can get more and post them over.

"Just got a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector for £2.99 from the local gamestop. Reason it was so cheap? It was missing the driver disk... OH NOES!!! Bargain."

What do you need the driver disk for?
If it's not important, this could solve all of my problems.

For installing the program to make it work I think. These days you should be able to find those things online anyway. If you are interested I'll ask him if he can get more of them and whip them in the post to me, that is when he's online again.

Totally get the driver if you need it. You have to get driver updates from the Internet anyway cos the disk is out of date. Nice catch buzz! :)

They've been discontinued by Nintendo, which is probably why it's so cheap.

But if you can find the drivers online then it's still a really good price!

How much are we talking as far as P&P goes?

    I really want one.

The driver on the disk IS out of date, the latest version is still available to download on the Nintendo site.

Words of warning: it is not officially supported on Windows 7, so you have to run the installer and the program in Vista compatibility mode. Also, it will not work AT ALL on a 64-bit system - that's why I can't use mine :(

It doesn't work on Windows 7 32-bit, even in Vista compatibility mode. It's a fairly poorly designed device. Why can't the DS just support WPA? Bah.

Really? It worked on the Win 7 32-bit RC on my laptop...

I don't expect it to be much, I'm messaging him now and see how many he can get

It failed to install on mine, and it seemed I wasn't the only one. I tried my best to get it working too, I even got XP Mode, but getting the internet to work in that was such a hassle. I'm planning now to put XP on a USB stick, but that really shouldn't be necessary!

That's where you can get the link. I should point out that when I used to use mine you'd have to reinstall the driver every few months. No idea why, just used to happen to me. But at that price I'd get it :)

From what I gather, every time your IP changes, you need to re-install the software. Don't ask me why or how...

my advice is to pick up a cheap router somewhere, and configure that to WEP. We got a free netgear router when we got NTL in our last house, and a modem/router in the new house. So i have 2 routers, one for xbox, laptops etc and one solely for the ds.

I realise we've discussed this before, any in many ways. But where can ya pick up one of these in the modern day, my desperation has grown to the level that I nearly ordered one from China yesterday...

    *waves hand holding one*

That is assuming I can find it wherever I left it. It's useless to me since it doesn't support Windows 7 or 64-bit, and I have both :(

Of course. As I said, it's useless to me now with one 64-bit machine too up-to-date for it, and my other machine now Linux.

I presume we shall do the deal when we next meet, whenever that may be?
