When you've been on the dole for 6 months you can have your money paid into your bank account as opposed to collecting it at the post office every week - does this happen automatically or do you have to ask the social welfare to start doing it?

Word on the ground is that you have to request it and some SW offices say yes and set it up and other SW offices have a good laugh at the cheek of you for thinking such as thing would even be considered. There have been numerous threads on the subject here already.

But it is your entitlement to have it paid into your bank account after the initial six months, so how can they 'laugh at the cheek of you'?!

Because they can! The SW offices refusing just say the rules have changed.

The only constructive thing would be to quote chapter and verse on how this is still an entitlement. It would be really helpful if you can do that. Noone else has been able to that which is why all the many previous threads on this same subject got nowhere.
