Anyone else think TV3 is showing the world of ****e lately? They have shows like the 40 stone virgin, and my secret body but to name a few. It's gone completly trash tv lately IMO.

This is not a recent thing.. they've been doing this for the past year or two!

    I'm sorry...."Gone to" ?

Doesn't that imply that at one stage it showed quality programming?

Are we talking about the same TV3, cos the one I'm aware of has always based it's schedule on cheap imported LCD sh*t (with a smattering of cheap exploitative homemade sh*t thrown in for balance).

I do stand corrected I suppose! It's always been rubbish yes, but for some reason recently I just noticed all the ads with all this crap

TV3 has been showing mostly ****e since day one. Notable exceptions include The Shield and Law & Order SVU.

Riveting shows where the ask the 3e news team (the what?) are they team Price or Team Andre. Or the the gimps who speak between shows at 3pm in the day

'thats right coming up its the repeat of Emmerdale that you saw last night, so put the kettle on and see will Andy save the lambs from the Dingles'

They had a stint of Top 10 shows. Cost them noting to make, cheap graphics. Top ten irish celebs or reality tv moments (basically any reality tv show that was on TV3), even top ten bikini moments. And who comments on these top 10, the entire TV3 news staff, the 3e staff, Expose staff, and Amanda Brunker and Fiona Looney (who i think actually pay TV3 jus so they can appear on TV)

Expose is really just an advert for womens fake tan and eyebrow wax! Also see the Midday day thread where a current affair programme headed up by the opinionated gimp that is Alan Cantwell became a cheap version Loose Women present by the one saving grace TV3 has, Colette Titzpatrick and giving their opinion on how periods hurt and how men are useless are Amanda Brunker and Fionna Looney plus a Expose presenter.

Also didn they have a reality TV show where they searched for a new Expose presenter and the winner was the guy who presented on the 3e (formally Channel 6) Movie review show, i know RTE do alot of inward promoting but thats taking the píss.

I also cant stand the fact that on Sunday night its Dancing on Ice from 7 til 10 pm or something like that! kill me!

Oh and the lack of charisma of Matt Copper presenting soccer is noting to that compared to the master Bill O'Herlihy! Tony Cascorino really? Jesus!

Even a great show like the apprentice was promoting a product or service every week (B&Q, Samsung, Renault etc..). Vincent Browne is watchable i find and i think when TV3 started out they had some good movies on a Sunday night but not is jus a mess!

Sorry this post really belongs in the R&R.

Couldn't agree more. It's the fact that every person in TV3 is doing like 3 different shows each.
I happened to flick over to Midday the other day. They were advertising a mens equivalent show for 3e which would be on the same time, hosted by obviously Martin King. They were going to talk about mens feelings and soap. Not sure what kind of viewing figures they get for these

But this trend of having nothing but these "The Boy Who Has Eaten His Own Head" and "The Girl Whose Fingers Became Rolls of Fruit Pastilles" type documentaries on is more recent than that!

Don't get me wrong.. it's always been a dire station but these documentaries take the proverbial biscuit!

Vincent Browne is the only show worth watching on TV3. They don't even import well.

That makes me feel very silly. I believe it was last Thursday indeed when I saw that ad. I retract me previous statement. The channel is still s**t btw!

TV3 was never not at the dogs, in fairness.

    Rubbish beyond belief.

I hate TV3's shows which have 'celebrity's' commenting on them.

Who the f cares what Amanda Brunker, Breffni, Karen Costner, or Laura Birmingham have to say.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,940 ✭✭✭Corkfeen

I've only ever watched two shows on tv3. Arrested Development and 30 Rock; to give a certain amount of credit to them, they wouldn't have ever been aired on an irish network if it wasn't for them.... But everything else on tv3 is mainly ****e.;)

Just look at was on in the last hour: Kerry Katona-Crash and Burn!!! Tabloid tripe best left to Diva tv or Living.

This show about "gifted" kids is undescribably bad.

hahaha i was watching the champions league earlier and my sister switched to that at half time. breffny giving his two cents on kerry katona taking drugs. jeez they must have compromising photos of him or something to make him do that.

I remember the first thing I ever saw on TV3 was Seinfeld and its been downhill ever since. Expose is cringeworthy. The news is like a tabloid newspaper on tv.

Mmm...how about transplanting the 'news' and some of the soaps to 3e, scrap the rest and rebrand 3e as the new Tv3. One can but dream...
