Trying to locate the VIN number?

I'm trying to locate the VIN on a Ford Transit Connect.

There's a serial number visible at the bottom edge of the windscreen, but then there's a slightly different number on a plate inside the side cargo door. Is one of these the engine number and the other the chassis number? Or is the engine number stamped on the actual engine.
Does anyone know about these kinds of things?

Ford Chassis numbers usually contain the letters GBB - although that might be cars rather than vans.

I've just looked up a Chassis number for an 09 Connect and it has TTPT in there. For some reason we never get full chassis numbers for Fords on invoices.

It's usually the one at the bottom of the windscreen and the Ford Chassis number will generally correspond to the engine number (same digits in both).

VIN number is always (For relatively modern vehicles) at the bottom of the windscreen.

Thanks for the replies. Yeh, both numbers I have start off similarly with TTPT in there somewhere but they end differently. I always thought that the VIN number was the chassis number - but if the VIN number is at the bottom of the windscreen, what's the number on the plate inside the cargo door?

I'm after bringing in this van from England and trying to fill out the DVLA certificate of export application form. If the VIN is at the bottom of the where do I get the engine number?

I have two different chassis numbers

One in the window looks false as it's off a High-roof model. The one on the door pillar looks correct.
Can anyone tell me where the engine number is located on the engine block so I can confirm if one of the VINs I have match the engine code?

In a Ford Transit I think there is also a chasis number visible under one of the front wheel arches.

I bought this as stolen/recovered. There is no log book.

I'm just trying to determine now if the apparently correct code on the door pillar matches the engine - as this might be then the original VIN. The engine code is the last few digits of the VIN - I wanted to check the engine block to see if it matches the VIN on the door pillar. Does anyone know where the engine number is located on the engine block?
