Should i buy an unlocked 3g iphone? help!

    Hi ya,

    Firstly i am a complete iphone virgin..dont know anything really! So be patient please haha

    I am thinking about buying an unlocked 3g iphone which i will be using as pay as you go on the Meteor network. I basically need to know everything anyone can tell me about it that i really do need to know.

    Will all the features of the iphone work on meteor network? will it cost extra? do i need to do anything to get it working like buying something for it?
    Will applications work on the Meteor network? how do i get applications for it? is it possible to get free applications?
    What is this i hear about updating software for the iphone? how do i do that?!? and also do i have to get some settings for the phone to get it working? how do i do that also?!?! (Sorry!!) Also syncing the iphone?! very ignorant i apologise! ill learn quick though!:D

    Any help much appreciated!!!!!!

    Yes all the features will work, but Meteor don't have much of a 3G network. You will need a data add on or the internet will be costly.

    You can get apps from the app store on the iphone or through cydia or rock. Loads of free apps.

    You won't be updating software once you jailbreak it so you can use your meteor sim. New iphones can't be jailbroken at the moment so you need to buy second hand.

    You may need to set up some mail and internet settings, there all available in the stickys at the top of this section of boards and the mobiles & pda section.

    You can sync the iphone, just don't update the software.
