JC Revision Books

I was wondering what peoples thoughts on various JC revision books were. I only picked up books for subjects a got lower than a B in.

I picked up Revisewise Business, Irish, Maths and Science today. Although I've only done some light skimming, The Irish one seems very good, especially if you do the Scéal as it has a solid 27 pages devoted to it (Which sucks as I do the debate\ essay). I will probably use it for format more than anything else, as it wasn't very beefy on Essay vocab. Basically, if your weak point is the Ceapadóireacht and you do the essay\ alt\ debate, I would recommend you shop around a bit before lunging at a ReviseWise book. However I really am in no position to judge it on the whole yet, but it looks in general promising.

Any success stories with Revision books?

Had I not had Revisewise Irish, I would have failed my exam. My teacher was an idiot. The science Revisewise isn't as good, and the English one is crap. The maths, French and history ones are really good too

For history, I have shortcuts to success, it's quite good.
I have a small little book called Essentials Unfolded for science and it's brilliant. I use Revise Wise moreso because of the layout, easy top read etc. I have Geography Revise Wise but I don't think it's very good.

I always thought they were pretty poor. I'd use notes from class, homework and exampapers mainly but yh...

My brother was using this game the other day to study for business studies and home economics for the JC. Didn't real believe that he was studying but it seems pretty good - www.shopsmartgame.ie

Anyone know any other good online tools for helping with revision?

I have most of them - The best History one is Shortcuts to Success as it has every single People In History question done. The rest I have are revisewise - Geography, Business, Irish are the best revisewise, but with Geography, it's more of a help to supplement your textbook. With Business and Irish revisewise, and Shortcuts to Success History, then you can replace your textbook for the revision book.
French isn't as helpful. Maths is... OK but I don't think I'll ever be good at Maths. Science isn't too good, but I'm the same at science as Maths.

I used two when I did the JC. Less Stress for History [absolutely awful book] and Revise Wise for Science [found it actually good].
