Ok I'm at the stage where I really don't know where to look next for more new music so I would really appreciate some reccommendations and I promise to try and listen to any put forward. At the moment I'm listening to Phoenix, Yeasayer, Animal Collective, Beach House so anything along those lines really ! Thanks guys

The National are a wonderful band with 3 superb albums (Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers, Alligator and Boxer) and a fantastic EP (Cherry Tree). Their new album is due out in early May and you can download a preview track called Bloodbuzz Ohio from their webiste (which is called www.americanmary.com for some reason?).

But the album that's completely flooring me at the moment is Joanna Newsom - 'Have One On Me'. As a triple CD with 18 songs (most of which are over 6-7 minutes long) it's a daunting prospect. But there are so many beautiful songs on this album that it repays the effort tenfold.
